Two El Al captains on Sunday flew the very first Israeli flight which flew over Oman on its way from Tel Aviv to Bangkok.

Last week, Oman's Civil Aviation Authority announced that its airspace will be open for all flights leaving Israel. Oman thus joined Saudi Arabia, which opened its airspace to flights from Israel this past July.

Before take-off, they said, “We are currently in the final preparations for our historic flight to Bangkok. We will fly over Oman, the Israeli flag will fly over Oman for the first time. Our flight time will be shortened by two and a half hours, which is very significant. We are very happy and excited to be here. Thank you.”
