The Finance Ministry published on Monday afternoon the main points of a deal that was presented to the teachers union in the negotiations between the two parties.

In the proposed outline, a teacher's salary in his first year will start at 9,000 shekels per month. This is at a time when the Union is demanding that the current teacher salary be raised to 10,500 shekels.

Another proposal made to the Teachers' Union in the agreement includes bonuses of 18,000 shekels after three years of teaching as well as a minimum amount of employment for teachers will be increased from 50% to 70% of a position.

According to the outline published here, the salary of a starting school principal will be 18,000 shekels. Other sections include increasing job payment and appointing better teachers to new positions who will receive a payment of 600 shekels a month.

Another section that is on the agenda is matching vacation days with the rest of the economy. According to the Finance Ministry, the proposal includes reducing the vacation day gaps between parents and students.

The Teachers' Union demand a gradual salary increase of up to 15% for experienced teachers. On the other hand, the ministry demands that the holiday schedule in the education system become altered for the economy and that a salary rating be introduced based on quality and not based on seniority.

The officials continue to make proposals that harm the teachers and manipulate the numbers. In their conduct, the Finance Ministry officials, continue to deepen the crisis in the educational system and place doubt in the opening of the school year on time. We call on the Prime Minister Yair Lapid, and Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman, to step in and resolve the national crisis."

The Teachers' Union stated, “the meeting blew up again, and even before it ended, the Finance Ministry had already distributed its contents. The gaps remain large, and the proposal made today is worse than the current situation."
