A "very dangerous" sex offender who has served multiple prison sentences for severe crimes was arrested by the Israel Prisons Service after he committed a criminal offense and attempted to commit an indecent act, Maariv reported.
According to Maariv, the offender was last released from prison in 2018. He was arrested by the Tzur unit of the Israel Prisons Service.
Since his release in 2018, the criminal, who is homeless and lives in the street in Abu Ghosh, has been in and out of rehabilitative institutions, all the while under close supervision by the unit. Two days ago, after he was discharged from a hostel, supervising commanders began an undercover mission which lasted 48 hours, for the purpose of arresting the suspect and placing him behind bars.
On Thursday, they followed his footsteps and arrived at Jerusalem's Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center, where they arrested him after he committed a criminal offense and attempted to carry out an indecent act.
The criminal was detained for questioning and was brought Friday to court, where his arrest was extended.
