Defense Minister Benny Gantz criticized the Nachala Movement's initiative to build multiple new settlements in Judea and Samaria and the MKs who turned out to support the move.

"Over the past two days, IDF, Israel police and Border Police forces have acted resolutely and professionally, preventing the establishment of illegal outposts in Judea and Samaria which violated public order," Gantz said.

He added, "along with our commitment to the war on terror, the security of the settlers and the preservation of legal settlements - we will not allow any violation of the rule of law."

Gantz criticized the MKs of the Religious Zionist Party who actively participated and assisted the settlers on the ground. "I am very sorry that there were elected officials who chose to support and even encourage a violation of the law - this is a very serious thing that deserves condemnation."

"The defense establishment will continue to operate in a statesmanlike manner and maintain law and order in Judea and Samaria and has full backing for that," Gantz concluded.
