It’s been a long and grueling six months in the hospital for Esther Gefner, but she never thought she’d see the day where her own daughter didn’t recognize her. 3-year-old Yaeli simply didn’t know that the sickly, weak woman in the hospital bed was her Mommy.
Esther went undiagnosed for several months, as doctors tried to figure out why she could not eat without vomiting. Recently she had her gallbladder removed and is improving.
The family’s financial situation, however, took a hard hit. Esther was unable to work during her illness and her husband had to leave his work as well to care for her and their daughter, Yael. Money is being raised to help them afford basics like groceries, rent, and bills. All help is deeply appreciated.
