reported last week on the renewed Israeli-Arab peace initiative of the ever-creative Libyan dictator, known as the ?Leader of the Revolution?, Colonel Moammar al-Qaddafi. On Tuesday, Qaddafi called for the formation of a new state to replace Israel and the Palestinian Authority, to be called ?IsraTeen? ? a combination of the names ?Israel? and ?Filasteen? (Arabic for ?Palestine?).

In his Tuesday press conference, Qaddafi both rejected the creation of a Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza and also rejected Arab pursuit of ?the policy of concession.? Qaddafi said that he does not ?recognize nor oppose the foundation of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza and it is better for the Palestinians to maintain the current situation? Having a state without a strong army will put it under the mercy of the Israeli army as is happening now.?

On the other hand, while Qaddafi wants the Arabs of the Palestinian Authority to hold off on creating their state until ?IsraTeen? is created, he also believes that ?the problem? is related to the Zionist plan itself seeking to seize all the Middle East,? reports Qaddafi explained that ?the Zionist scheme is not posing a threat only to the Palestinians but to all the Arab states. The Israelis,? the Libyan leader clarified, ?seek to Judaize the North African countries and reach even Mecca and Madina as they think the two cities are Jewish heritage.? Qaddafi made the statements during a press conference following last Tuesday morning?s bilateral talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
