The Central District Court in Lod today convicted Mohammed Reisha for a stabbing attack in Kfar Saba on Memorial Day 2020. Reisha was convicted on the basis of his confession of attempted murder with the intention of committing a terrorist act and of entering Israel illegally.

During the attack, Reisha stabbed Batya Lebel 13 times. Lebel was evacuated in critical condition to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba.

This morning, Lebel, together with Adv. Haim Bleicher from the Honenu legal organization, arrived at the court to be present during the reading of the decision on the terrorist's conviction in his attempt to murder her.

Advocate Bleicher said after the conviction, “Today he was convicted of a brutal terrorist attack that he carried out a brutal attack on BatyaLebel in the midst of Memorial Day just because she was Jewish. It was important for us to expedite the terrorist's conviction, since this is a case that testifies to the savagery of the inhuman terrorists."

"Precisely in this period of rising terrorism, we will demand that the terrorist be given the maximum punishment that will constitute a call for direction to increase punishment in the courts and in legislation against Islamic terrorism," he added.

The Im Tirtzu movement, which accompanied Lebel in the fight to convict the terrorist, said: "Justice is being done in court, but there is still a long way to go. We demand the most severe punishment. The terrorist must rot in prison until his last day."
