Israeli mentalist Uri Geller has claimed credit for the successful freeing of the Ever Given cargo ship yesterday after the vessel had been trapped in the Suez Canal for nearly a week.
After the ship was freed yesterday, Geller wrote to his followers on Twitter: "We did it! We released the Ship! Well done! This was a mammoth task but with your mind-power and self belief we all together freed the ship!"
Geller told Arutz Sheva: "I believe that with my powers and with the powers of those who concentrated with me, we succeeded. I even have emails from the source down there in Suez that they were surprised to see the ship move at 11:04."
Geller had been calling on followers to concentrate with their minds at the same time every day in an effort to will the ship free. The times were 11:11 AM and PM.
The 430-meter long Ever Given was partially ran aground last Tuesday, blocking all travel through the Suez Canal, one of the world's most important shipping lanes. Each day the ship remained stuck, $9 billion in commerce was blocked. Global supply chains, already under strain due to the coronavirus pandemic, were further stretched by the inability of ships to access the crucial waterway.
Hundreds of ships waited to cross the canal, with a few ships deciding to take the long and costly route around the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa instead.
