Yamina Chair Naftali Bennett responded to the recent ICC ruling that it has jurisdiction to investigate Israelis.

Bennett posted a video on the matter on Facebook and wrote, "Share with the world: We will protect IDF soldiers from the circus of hypocrisy of the Hague court. If there is a list of suspects, put me at the top of the list."

In the video, Bennett said, The International Criminal Court, which is based in the Hague, said that it has the right to open a criminal investigation against Israel. Let me be clear: The ICC has no right to investigate, no right to indict, no right to try, and no right to convict any Israeli whatsoever. The International Criminal Court is a sham."

"Israel is not a member of this fake court. Israel is a vibrant democracy. It’s a country of laws.

"This document, I hold it in my pocket, every Israeli soldier is required to carry it. It’s called 'The Spirit of the Israel Defense Forces.' It explains the fundamental values that every Israeli soldier upholds. One of those is the 'purity of arms.'

"And I quote: 'The soldier should make use of his weaponry and power only for the fulfillment of the mission and solely to the extent required; he will maintain his humanity even in combat.' We don’t need anyone to lecture us about morality.

"Israel faces a brutal enemy that has zero respect for human rights, democracy, or the rule of law. In Gaza, Hamas stores weapons in schools, it digs tunnels under mosques, and fires rockets from within hospitals. I’ve seen it. Hezbollah likewise.

"As Defense Minister, I ensured that nobody would tie the hands of our soldiers who risk their lives to protect us. We will never tie the hands of the Israeli soldiers. And the Jewish people will never again be at the mercy of others.

"I want every Israeli soldier to know that I have their back. If it’s true that the ICC is making a list of so-called Israeli suspects, I ask that my name be put at the top of that list."
