A weekly report submitted by the Health Ministry to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee says that from July 1 to date, 1,166,255 people have been ordered to enter COVID-19 isolation.

In the last week alone, 254,532 Israelis went into isolation.

Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman MK Zvi Hauser points out that Israel is the only country that uses GSS surveillance measures, and therefore has the highest relative number of citizens entering isolation.

The Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman is continuing his struggle to shorten the number of isolation days subject to coronavirus examination and in accordance with policies pursued in other countries such as France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Austria.

He says shortening the number of isolation days by two will save about NIS 150 million a month and about NIS 2 billion a year.
