A public opinion poll conducted by the Rafi Smith Institute among 600 of the Jewish population shows most Israelis favor full sovereignty over all communities in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley.
In addition, about half of sovereignty advocates see Netanyahu's failure to apply sovereignty as attributable to him personally. The poll also shows that the Likud could lose about 4-5 seats because of this.
The data:
• According to the survey, 45% of the Israeli public favor Israeli sovereignty in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley, 33% oppose, and another 22%, a relatively high percentage, expressed no opinion.
• The survey also revealed that most supporters of the sovereignty program support full sovereignty (46%) and would not settle for sovereignty over some of the communities, such as Gush Etzion or Ma'aleh Adumim (20%).
• Of those who support sovereignty, 14% said that if the Prime Minister does not apply sovereignty, the likelihood that they will support the Likud in the next election is reduced.
• Among Likud voters in the last election who support sovereignty, 13% said the likelihood of supporting Likud in the next election will decrease if Netanyahu does not apply Israeli sovereignty.
• About half of sovereignty supporters (47%) said they agreed that "if sovereignty were not applied in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley, it would be considered a personal failure of Binyamin Netanyahu."
Jordan Valley Regional Council Chairman and Yesha Council Chairman David Alhaini said: "This survey shows the public wants sovereignty and isn't satisfied with partial sovereignty. The Prime Minister knows the data and knows very well that he has the backing of the Israeli public for the move. I hope the Prime Minister doesn't give in to the threats by the Left and the Arabs who oppose, and will keep his promises to make this historic move. Mr. Prime Minister: It's time to apply Israeli sovereignty in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley without a construction freeze and without a Palestinian state."
