Members of 'Habithonistim' ('Protectors of Israel') visited Samaria today to express their support for Israel declaring its sovereignty in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley in accordance with President Trump's 'Deal of the Century.'

The movement says its support for the move has afforded it the backing of over 1,000 IDF officers and commanders whom, it says, "joined [it] in the first three months since [its] establishment." "Furthermore, Israeli society gave us massive support, endorsing our call for Sovereignty now," continues its mission statement.

'Habithonistim' claim that sovereignty would not endanger Israel as a result of an increase in terror attacks by the PA since security coordination is what "keeps [PA head] Mahmoud Abbas in control, preventing a takeover by Hamas."

Regarding threats of attacks by Hamas following the move, the group says Israel's deterrence is the only thing that will prevent its enemies from continuing to wage warfare and that, "[Hamas] has huge economic problems and depend on Israel's assistance. The fight against Israel from Gaza is ongoing and does not depend on what happens in Judea and Samaria."

Referencing the upcoming move, Brigadier General (res.) Amir Avivi, the organization's CEO, said the question was not "what will happen the day after, but Israel's long-term security interests."

Major General (Res.) Yitzhak Jerry Gershon another member of the group and former commander of the IDF Judea and Samaria Division as well as the Home Front Command, which he led through the 2006 Lebanon War, said there was "no [alternative other] than Israel taking control of the border between the Jordan [River] Valley and Judea and Samaria."

Gershon also said Israel was interested in settling the Jordan Valley which, according to him, it views as an "integral part of [its territory.]" He spoke out against the creation of a Palestinian State saying Israel could not place its security in the hands of a "foreign entity."
