Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reported that a host of a program on official Palestinian Authority TV claimed that "since food reveals each nation’s culture and history, the Occupation has attempted and continues its attempts to rob us of everything connected to our history: our garb, the keffiyeh, and foods like hummus and falafel."
She went on to say: "It tries to steal them and attributes them to itself because it lacks any history of its own in this land. It's not enough for it to steal the land. No, It also covets our foods, garb, and water."
