Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security President Professor Efraim Inbar told Arutz Sheva "The cartoon we've seen in the New York Times is unfortunately another testimony to the institutional anti-Semitism of the New York Times. It's not the first time they depict Jews and Israelis in such a despicable way.

Inbar does not believe the attack was deliberately timed to coincide with Holocaust Remembrance Day, but "it is connected to the mere fact that the Holocaust's memory is dissipating, and the political correctness that excluded anti-Semitic messages and statements is no longer as strong as it was, and this is true of course of the United States as well."
