The opposition was able on Monday evening to bring down a bill submitted by MK Roy Folkman (Kulanu), which stipulates that any renovation work in excess of 44,000 shekels would be under the responsibility of the contractor, meaning that every contractor will have to offer a one-year warranty for repairs or renovations.

This is the second bill that has been brought down in the Knesset since Yisrael Beytenu resigned from the coalition.

Opposition coordinator MK Yoel Hasson (Zionist Union) said in response, "It's not pleasant to see that coalition members are dozing off, they have to understand the message already, we do not work for them, if they want a law passed, they will have to come and vote for themselves.”

"The 61-member coalition is not really functioning, apart from personal laws like the Gideon Sa’ar Law, they have no real incentive to legislate for the citizens. We need to hold elections as soon as possible," Hasson added.

MK Folkman blasted the opposition for working to bring down his legislation.

"How miserable is the opposition. They take a simple consumer law which works for the benefit of the citizen, and bring it down one moment after the chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee presents the law. They don’t care about the citizens,” he said.
