Last Monday, a closed Supreme Court hearing was held before the panel of Justices Hanan Meltzer and Neal Hendel, headed by Supreme Chief Justice Justice Esther Hayut, on the use of magnetometers for Jewish visitors to the Temple Mount but not for Arab visitors.

During the hearing, the state presented the judges with secret police intelligence information according to which There is a justification for examining only a Jewish detector at the entrance to the Temple Mount.

The state responded to a petition by the right-wing Otzmah Yehudit movement organization and Attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir, alleging that the use of magnetometers against only Jewish visitors constituted discrimination.

The petition was based on a previous Supreme Court decision that the police could not compile lists of only Jewish visitors to the Temple Mount.

Chief Justice Hayut announced that no further hearings would be held on the matter.
