US President Donald Trump on Monday promised to announce his decision regarding the 2015 "Iran deal" on Tuesday afternoon.

"I will be announcing my decision on the Iran Deal tomorrow from the White House at 2:00pm," Trump tweeted Monday.

Trump was expected to announce his decision to either keep or scrap the deal by May 12, when he would have reimpose sanctions on Iran, after promising not to extend the sanctions relief an additional time.

Britain, France, and Germany have been discussing possible changes to the deal, in an effort to keep the US as a signatory.

ranian leaders have emphasized that they will not accept either cancellation of or changes to the deal, and promised to leave the deal if the US did. They have also promised that the US will "regret" any decision to leave the deal.

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron warned that "there could be war" if Trump does decide to scrap the deal. He added, "I don’t think that Donald Trump wants war."
