Health Minister Yakov Litzman (UTJ) slammed Clalit Health Fund Director-General Noaz Bar-Nir regarding the current state of the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.
According to Litzman, the hospital's infrastructure is faulty and unfit for patients.
"We observed old infrstructure, unfit for patients in 2018," Channel 2 quoted Litzman as saying on Sunday evening.
"The internal medicine units have six patients to a room, one bathroom for every two rooms, and a single shower at the end of the hall. The same is true for the surgical wards and the maternity ward."
Clalit did not respond to the claim, saying only that the government insists on renovations worth hundreds of millions of shekels, while refusing to lift a finger to help the hospitals.
"The entire health system is in severe deficit, and it's time to deal with this issue properly," Clalit wrote in a statement.
