Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon (Kulanu) and Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) are expected to approve next week a set of new regulations, based on the recently-released 'blacklist' of foreign NGOs affiliated with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, that will withhold tax benefits and other benefits from Israeli boycott-supporting organizations.
Modeled after the blacklist of foreign activists who are banned from entering Israel for their activities against the Jewish state, the new regulations will extend the state sanctions to Israelis affiliated with the BDS movement, barring them from receiving tax deductions and other benefits enjoyed by non-profit organizations.
According to the regulations, which will be brought for debate in the coming days, organizations or activists targeted by the new 'blacklist' will be summoned for a hearing before their benefits are revoked.
The Strategic Affairs Ministry stresses that the regulations will not only negate tax benefits, but also prevent any possibility of competing in tenders issued by the State and any other benefits it provides.
Minister Kahlon recently announced that he intends to act to revoke tax benefits for Amnesty International in accordance with the Boycott Law. This was the result of an international campaign by the organization against the "occupation", which also called for boycotting Israeli products manufactured beyond the "Green Line".
