Yael Shevach, the widow of Rabbi Raziel Shevach, murdered earlier this week in a shooting terror attack near Havat Gilad in Samaria, called on the public to visit the community, where the Shevach family lives, and express solidarity with the residents.
“Raziel my husband was murdered on his way from a brit mila [ritual circumcision] and another mitzvah,” the widow, who now faces the task of raising six young children alone, revealed.
“His only goal was to do good deeds and pass along tranquility and happiness,” she said. “He was simply murdered, nobody asked him if he wanted to die, including the murderer.”
“I think that anybody who knows the story and it touched him should just come here to Havat Gilad. People need to come from all around the world. We buried him here, because that was his last mission.”
Shevach called on the Prime Minister to act immediately for the normalization of Havat Gilad. “From here I truly call to the Prime Minister, we want to live here as proud Jews, we want to feel pride that we live here.”
“We want to feel that they know we deserve a home and to be normalized, and not have to fight for every stretch of earth and not to feel like we are thieves on the land.”
