One person was injured in a stone-throwing attack on a civilian bus Thursday evening.

A large stone was hurled at a bus on Route 65 near the Israeli-Arab town of Umm al-Fahm. A 30-year-old man was lightly injured in the attack.

Magen David Adom paramedics were summoned to the scene and treated the wounded man.

Umm al-Fahm has been a hotbed of Islamic extremism since the late 1980s, since the election of the chairman of the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, Raed Salah, as mayor of Umm al-Fahm. The three terrorists who murdered two Druze police officers at the Temple Mount in July came from Umm al-Fahm. The terrorists were given heroes' funerals when their bodies were returned, with thousands of mourners in attendance. Police foiled a copycat attack at the Temple Mount by other residents of Umm al-Fahm in September.
