An Arab resident of the Palestinian Authority was arrested Thursday after he stole a truck as part of a planned terror attack in central Israel.
A police spokesperson said the suspect was a 39-year-old resident of the PA-controlled town of Ramallah in Samaria.
The suspect, authorities say, stole the truck from Holon in central Israel on Thursday and was spotted en route to Rishon Letzion.
Police pursued the suspect who attempted to evade authorities, leading officers on a chase through the Beit Dagan area. During the chase, the suspect rammed a private car and a police cruiser.
The chase was finally ended on Moshe Dayan Boulevard in Rishon Letzion, where police managed to apprehend the suspect.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted that he stole the truck as part of a terror plot to run down IDF soldiers in central Israel.
The terrorist is slated to be brought before a judge in Rishon Letzion on Friday for an extension of his arrest.
