Nine Israelis were injured Sunday when a jeep overturned on the way to the Annapurna ridge in Nepal.

Eight of the victims were lightly injured. The condition of the ninth victim, who suffered a head injury, is currently unknown,

A local rescue helicopter was rushed to the scene to evacuate the injured. Rabbi Hezki Lifshitz, the Chabad emissary in Kathmandu, was also making his way towards the region.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said that the Israeli Consulate in Nepal is handling the matter and is collecting details on the condition of the injured Israelis in order to help evacuate them.
