Following the murderous terror attack this morning, Tuesday, in the town of Har Adar northwest of Jerusalem, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely had a message for the US administration, which will reportedly be “continu[ing] the peace track” this week with the upcoming arrival of US special envoy Jason Greenblatt to Israel.

Greenblatt’s latest visit follows US President Donald Trump’s meetings with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas last week in New York.

In a statement this morning, Hotovely emphasized that negotiations between Israel and the PA were pointless as long as the PA continues to encourage terror.

“The terrible attack this morning in Har Adar is the welcoming ceremony that the Palestinians have prepared for US envoy Greenblatt,” Hotovely said.

“American efforts must focus, first of all, on stopping the murderous terror of the Palestinians before anything else,” she emphasized. “There is no sense in negotiating with those who only fan the flames of terror and continue to pay the families of terrorists.”

Three Israelis were killed and a fourth wounded in the attack this morning, after a terrorist opened fire on a group of Border Police officers and guards near Har Adar's back gate, used by Palestinian Arabs who work in the town.
