Supreme Court justices Yoram Danziger, Dafna Barak Erez, and David Mintz ordered the state to return the bodies of the three terrorists from Umm al-Fahm who murdered two Druze policemen in a terrorist attack at the Temple Mount on July 14.

The terrorists were all Israeli citizens.

The court decision was made in response to a petition by the families of the terrorists to have their bodies returned for burial. The judges ruled that the police were not authorized to prevent the return of the bodies.

The judges stated in their ruling: "After giving the petitioners at least two hours notice, the the police will hand over the bodies of their sons to the Petitioners for burial in the cemetery near the Al Farouk Mosque in Umm al-Fahm. The notice shall be given no later than 30 hours following the release of this judgment."

However, the judges added: "It goes without saying that the Israel Police will be entitled to set conditions and provisions, at its discretion, in order to ensure that the funerals themselves will be conducted while maintaining public order and to prevent disturbances and violence."
