A synagogue in the Old City of Jerusalem went up in flames on Sunday, in what police say was an apparent act of arson.
The synagogue, which is located in the Old City’s Jewish Quarter, was empty at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries.
Fire fighters were called to the scene to extinguish the blaze, while police dispatched detectives to gather evidence for an investigation into the apparent arson.
Authorities suspect the fire was likely a hate crime committed by Arab arsonists and have opened a criminal investigation into the incident.
No suspects have yet been arrested in connection with the fire.
