The Sephardic rabbi of the Mitzpe Ramon Local Council, Rabbi Daniel Bar-Moha, was killed Wednesday in a fatal car accident in Gedera. Bar Moha was 63.
The accident occurred when two cars crashed into each other. Rabbi Bar Moha was killed while the other driver was lightly injured.
Rabbi Bar Moha served as rabbi of the local council for 29 years. His funeral will take place at 6:30 PM in Gedera.
Ofer Fisher, a senior MDA paramedic and MDA paramedic Sagi Weitz who were at the scene of the accident, related that "when we arrived at the scene we saw a 60-year-old man near a car after onlookers had extricated him from the driver's seat. He was unconscious and had no pulse, was not breathing and was suffering from injuries to his chest and upper body."
"We gave him first aid treatment and attempted to resuscitate him. After a short period we were forced to declare him dead. We also checked the other driver and he evacuated himself to hospital in light condition."
