A rocket fired from the Sinai Peninsula towards Israel Tuesday morning appears to have landed in an open field just over the border.
An IDF spokesperson confirmed that the rocket was fired at Israel, but said it was not yet clear if the rocket had landed inside or just outside of Israel’s border.
“A short while ago, a projectile was launched towards Israel from the Sinai Peninsula. Forces searching for signs of impact.”
Security establishment officials said no emergency sirens or warning systems were activated after the rocket was fired, since the projectile was launched towards an open area.
No casualties or damage have been reported.
