MK Yehuda Glick (Likud) slammed coalition chairman MK David Bitan following Bitan's statement last night that the Finance Ministry "repeatedly rejects any initiative to raise disability allowances, but is defending the lives of a handful of Tzfonbonim (slang for north-Tel Aviv residents, perceived by some to be an effete corps of bourgeois snobs).

"There has not been a single discussion about the Broadcasting Corporation in the faction until now," Glick said in an interview with Channel 10. "I want to have a discussion and a discussion in which we can voice our opinion. I am not a marionette."

According to him, "coalition discipline is important for the stability of the government, but that does not mean that it is forbidden to hear and to express other opinions.

"I spoke to my faction colleagues last week and no one understands why the Prime Minister wants to go to elections over the Corporation," Glick said. "On the other hand, the person who is supposed to speak for me says every day on television that we are going to elections because of the Corporation and those who support the Corporation is against the disabled and is a Tzfonbon.

"I wholeheartedly believe in Likud positions and think that the Prime Minister is excellent and I respect MK David Bitan, but I do not have to connect to this aggressive and divisive style," Glick added.
