The terrorist who killed US citizen Ezra Schwartz, as well as an Israel citizen and a resident of the Palestinian Authority, in a terrorist attack at the Etzion Junction in November 2015, received four life sentences Sunday.
The sentence was handed down by the Ofer military court.
Mohammed Abdel Basset al-Kharoub shot and killed Schwartz, an 18 year old resident of Boston who was studying in a yeshiva in Israel for a year, as well as Yaakov Don, 51, and Shadi Arafa, 24. Several other people were injured in the attack.
The judges noted that the terrorist fired 75 bullets, and that after running out of bullets he continued his murderous attack.
"He calmly carried out the attack, causing the death of Yaakov. He then opened fire on the minibus, killing Ezra Schwartz," the court noted.
Al-Kharoub received a life sentence for each victim of his attack, and an additional life sentence for a number of attempted murders.
He was also required to pay 250,000 shekels ($69,000) to the families of each of the victims.
