Israeli Construction Minister Yoav Galant (Kulanu) on Sunday slammed via Twitter former Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon (Likud) for his statements on the state comptroller's report on 2014's Operation Protective Edge, which will be released on Tuesday evening.
"The soldiers fought very bravely in Protective Edge," Galant tweeted. "Ya'alon and former Chief of staff Benny Gantz failed. They were negligent and careless. They hesitated to use force. And now, they are hiding behind the Cabinet."
Galant also mentioned Ya'alon's Saturday night Facebook post on the topic.
"In the coming week, you're going to hear a lot about Operation Protective Edge. Whoever took the unprecedented step of turning war into politics during Protective Edge will do the same this week. They'll tell you they didn't know, they weren't told, it wasn't reported.
"And the biggest lie of all? That we weren't ready, and that we lost. That's completely untrue. There are those who leak information, and there are those who fight."
Gantz said, "We could have reconquered Gaza... Instead, they wanted us to hurt Hamas badly, ruin the tunnels, and scare the terrorists. Hamas stayed in its position of power."
