Happy ending: an engagement ring accidentally thrown in the trash was found in Geula neighborhood in Jerusalem.
Last Thursday, the bride-to-be threw a bag into the garbage, and the ring – worth several tens of thousands of shekels – got caught on the bag and was accidentally thrown in the trash can too.
Just moments later, the trash can was emptied by a passing garbage truck, and after contacting the Jerusalem Municipality, the truck was ordered to a municipal depot to unload its contents, and the desperate search began.
The ring was finally located on Sunday night by an elderly Jewish man, who actually passed by said trash can on Thursday. He only heard of the loss on Saturday, and after joining in the search he eventually managed to contact the bride and return her the ring.
