Rabbi Haim Kanievsky, one of the leaders of the Hareidi Lithuanian movement, was admitted to Mayanei Hayeshua hospital in Bnei Brak on Saturday night, after feeling ill throughout the weekend.

Relatives of Rabbi Kanievsky have said that he wasn’t feeling well for the entire weekend and did not attend synagogue. Rather a quorum of men came to his house to pray with him there.

Following several tests at the hospital, it was found that Rabbi Kanievsky is suffering from the flu.

The doctors decided to keep him overnight at the hospital and will be deciding upon further treatment sometime on Sunday. Doctors may release him to be cared for at home during the day, or may keep him for a longer stay at the hospital depending upon his condition.
