Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) spoke with Army Radio about her party's decision to punish its MK Moti Yogev.
"I spoke with MK Yogev and explained to him that his statements are out of place and that he must stop them," said Shaked.
When asked about the party's sanctions against Yogev for voting against the coalition last week, she said, "We don't punish MKs for invented failures. Any MK who does not vote according to the coalition's decision needs to be punished. Likud would do well to also punish its members for voting against the coalition's stances."
The minister also spoke about the new draft law. "The whole time I was opposed to sanctions. The one who determined the issue then was the Prime Minister. I am happy that there is an opportunity to fix it. I voted in favor of sanctions because I was a member of the government and I acknowledge the restrictions of the coalition."
Regarding the bill to label organizations that rely on foreign funding, she not that "When a sovereign state intervenes in our country, it harms our sovereignty. No country would be willing to let another meddle in its affairs. I don't understand the fuss about it."
