Leading nationalist activist Attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir was present at the Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday morning for the sentencing of radical Sheikh Raed Salah, where he verbally confronted the radical Islamist leader and Arab MK Jamal Zahalka (Joint List).

Ben-Gvir suddenly approached the radical MK, shouting, "you're a terrorist, you're a terrorist, in any normal country they would send you in for a life sentence." The calls set off a commotion in the court, but Zahalka stood shocked for a long minute before finally rallying and shouting back, with security keeping the two apart.

Zahalka caused an uproar in late September when he verbally attacked police for letting Jews visit the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism, saying "the hell with them!," and calling the Jews "criminals, lunatics." The incident caused many in the Knesset to call for Zahalka's banning. Earlier this month the MK tried to defy the prime minister's ban on MKs from visiting the Mount.

In the trial, Salah's petition of a 2007 charge of incitement was rejected, and he was handed an 11-month sentence for his long history of inciting terrorism around the holy site. The radical sheikh reacted to the sentence by saying "with spirit and with blood we will redeem Al-Aqsa (Mosque)," in an open call for terror.

The attorney also shouted at Salah outside the court, saying, "you're a terrorist. In any normal country you wouldn't see another day. Only in Israel do they let you."
