The Yesha Council has decided to call off the huge rally planned for Tuesday evening in front of the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem.
The large-scale demonstration to protest the government's failure to stop an ongoing wave of Arab terror in Israel was cancelled after a flurry of attacks on Tuesday morning in Jerusalem and Ra'anana.
Yesh Council chairman Avi Roeh said "the Israeli people are passing difficult hours after the murder of three citizens here in Jerusalem and the wounding of many others."
"We send condolences to the families whose loved ones were killed simply for being Jewish, and of course we wish a full recovery to those injured, some of whom are fighting for their lives."
"Under the authority of the Yesha Council, we have decided to shut down the tent erected here after the funeral for the Henkin couple, murdered in Samaria," Roeh announced.
"We are also canceling the central rally planned for this evening in order to prevent overtiring security forces, who are invested day and night in combatting the terrorists trying to harm the fabric of the lives of residents of the State of Israel."
Arutz Sheva spoke with Gush Etzion Regional Council Head David Perl, who backed up the Yesha Council's decision.
"We have made the decision now, while the state of Israel is under a war - it's a real war, with our enemies from inside - we have to come all together, to be together, and not make events that may show we are not with all the nation," Perl declared.
He added that protestors would now return home and revisit discussion with the Prime Minister on the "needs for our community" and "security in the area" once the wave of terror has ended.
Judea-Samaria regional leaders first began the vigil outside the Prime Minister's Residence after the murders of Rabbi Eitam and Naama Henkin earlier this month.
