The Palestinian Authority (PA) and its leading Fatah faction have long incited violence on the Temple Mount, where Islamists attacked police and rioted starting on Rosh Hashanah last week on Sunday.

But in the latest flurry over Al-Aqsa Mosque which sits on the Mount, the holiest site in Judaism, the PA and Fatah have outdone themselves this month in inciting for more attacks, even as Israeli law enforcement on the site has received international condemnation.

The largest single example of incitement came from PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas himself, who last Wednesday called for violence on the Mount, saying on the official PA TV station: "the Al-Aqsa (Mosque) is ours...and they (Jews) have no right to defile it with their filthy feet," while praising "martyrs" who spill blood in Jerusalem for Allah.

He repeated that call this Tuesday by warning of an impending "intifada" terror war. But Abbas's statements were just the tip of the iceberg in the campaign by PA and Abbas's Fatah faction to fan the flames on the sensitive holy site.

Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) on Thursday presented a thorough exposition of several ways the PA and Fatah have been busily inciting violence on the Mount, including in a cartoon published on the website of Fatah's Information and Culture Commission.

In the cartoon posted on Saturday, Israel is shown as an Islamic State (ISIS) executioner in black with a Star of David on his forehead, and the word "Judaization" written in Arabic on his stomach.

A massive axe is being swung in his hands to decapitate "Palestine," whose head is the Dome of the Rock that is also located on the Mount. The chopping block under the head of the Dome of the Rock is labelled "the international disregard."

PA officials also got in on the action, with former PA Prime Minister and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee member Ahmed Qurei warning against "Judaization."

Qurei, who is the head of the PLO's Department for Jerusalem Affairs, said on official PA TV last week that "the most important thing in Jerusalem is the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre."

"The Al-Aqsa Mosque is being subjected to Judaization and division by times and areas, and moreover to destruction in order to build the alleged Temple."

The incitement libel, according to which Israel intends to demolish the mosque and build the Third Temple, was echoed last week by Raafat Alayan, Fatah's spokesperson in Jerusalem.

According to Alayan, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu "and the Israeli extreme right are acting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque, not only to divide it by times and areas... They want to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and build the alleged Temple on the ruins of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
