Two Israelis were wounded on Wednesday night by Arab terrorists throwing rocks on Highway 443, which runs from Lod past Modi'in to the northwest of Jerusalem - one of them was a two-year-old baby girl.
The infant was lightly wounded by the rocks, and another man was likewise wounded and initially refused to be evacuated for medical treatment.
After receiving treatment at Shaare Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem the infant was released; the attack took place on the same highway where an Israeli was stabbed last Sunday at a gas station.
The incident brings to mind the tragic murder of the infant Adelle Biton, who was critically wounded at the age of two by Arab terrorists who threw rocks at her family's car and hit her directly in the head.
In February the tiny terror victim died of complications from the wounds she suffered in the attack, after a grueling two-year struggle to recuperate.
Several hours before the rock attack on Wednesday, another attack took place in the neighborhood of Isawiya in eastern Jerusalem.
In that incident a police officer was lightly wounded by a firebomb thrown at him by Arab terrorists, and received medical treatment at the scene.
Police released a statement after the attack, saying that masked Arab youths threw rocks and firebombs at police and Border Patrol forces. Police dispersed the attackers with riot dispersal means, but did not arrest any of the assailants.
The attacks come after four Jews and one Arab were lightly wounded on Tuesday in rock attacks targeting a bus and two private vehicles in the A-Tur neighborhood near the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem.
Four of the wounded were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital for treatment of their wounds, and were released home on Wednesday.
