Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat was present at the opening of a new chapter of the religious-Zionist Ezra youth movement in the capital's Har Homa (Homat Shmuel) neighborhood, in memory of murdered Israeli teenager Eyal Yifrah.
Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Barkat noted that expanding Israel's growing network of Zionist youth movements was a fitting way to honor the memories of Israelis murdered by Arab terrorists.
"It is a very worthy and strong statement, that in Jerusalem we honor the people killed in terror attacks," Barkat said.
"In many ways we're saying that not only do we remember the people we lost, but we memorialize them in an honorable way, so people know they will never defeat us."
