Brisket is one of my favorite cuts of meat. It is relatively inexpensive, cooks slowly in the oven to produce a tender piece of beef, is versatile and slices beautifully. This recipe couldn’t be simpler!
Ingredients:
- 1.3 – 2.2kg brisket
- 100g of onion soup powder
- 1 can of Coke
- 1 cup of chilli sauce
Method:
Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius (320 degrees Fahrenheit).
Place brisket in a large baking dish.
In a medium sized bowl, mix all the sauce ingredients very well.
Pour the sauce evenly over the meat.
Cover meat tightly with foil.
Bake meat for around 3 hours.
Leave to cool and when cold place meat in fridge.
Slice meat when cold.
Heat and serve with the sauce.
