Lag B'Omer is not just about bonfires, it's about a deep message of love and education, according to Rabbi Ze'ev Slavin, head of the Ohr Simcha children's home in Kfar Chabad, east of Rishon Letzion on the coast.

Rabbi Slavin told Arutz Sheva how the period leading from Pesach (Passover) to Lag B'Omer and on to Shavuot is a period of spiritual elevation, and how the holiday is an opportunity to educate about the importance of unity and love for all people, regardless of their background or who they are.
