Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has said Iran will not take part in negotiations with world powers if threatened with military action over its nuclear program.
In comments reported by Iran's English-language state media, Press TV, Khamenei said: "Holding nuclear talks (with major powers) under shadow of threat is unacceptable for Iran ... Our nation will not accept it ... Military threats will not help the talks."
"Recently two U.S. officials threatened to take military action against Iran. What does negotiation mean under the shadow of threats," he added.
No details were given as to what precise threats Khamenei was referring to, or when they were allegedly made.
Khamenei also reportedly urged his country's nuclear negotiators to stand by the Islamic Republic's "red lines".
"Our negotiators should continue the talks with respect to our red lines. They should not accept any imposition, humiliation and threat," he said, according to the Islamic Republic News Association (IRNA), another state-controlled media outlet.
Negotiations are set to recommence next week in Vienna between Iran and the P5+1 powers - United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China - as well as the European Union.
The sides signed a framework deal on April 2, but are under pressure to formalize a final deal by June 30.
