Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu launched his harshest attack to date on the rival “Zionist Camp” list Thursday, following the reports that Arab sports journalist Zuhair Bahloul, number 17 on the joint Labor Hatnua Knesset list, provided testimony in 2012 on behalf of the family of an Arab citizen of Israel from the Galilee convicted of terrorism.

“The latest expose is more proof of the anti-Zionist nature of the leftist list headed by Tzipi (Livni) and Buji (Yitzhak Herzog),” said Netanyahu in a short video uploaded to Facebook. “When a future MK in this list gives character witness in praise of Hezbollah – what can we add? The choice is clear cut: the anti-Zionist leftist list headed by Tzipi and Buji, or the Likud list head by me. That is the real choice.”

Buji is the nickname of Labor head Herzog – a name his campaign is refraining from using, and which Likud has apparently been using on purpose.

Although Bahloul did not praise the terror acts of Milad Khatib, he did not condemn them either, and gave the testimony in the context of a positive character recommendation for the terrorist's family on behalf of the defense.

In response, Bahloul said that the testimony was given on behalf of the Khatib family, and not Milad, “who had gone off the straight path.”

Adding backing to Netanyahu's criticism of the "Zionist Camp" is the fact that in a recent Labor promotional poster in Arabic, the party removed the word "Zionist," instead calling itself "the Labor party for peace and equality."
