The Jalama crossing north of Jenin was closed after a Palestinian wearing a suspected explosive device arrived at the area.

Investigators from the Ministry of Defense, responsible for the crossing, examined the suspect, while police dealt with the device. However, it was eventually revealed that the man was in fact unarmed.

Two weeks ago, on Friday, a suspicious object was found at Rehalim Junction in Samaria. The object was discovered by residents of Samaria who passed by the area and notified police.

Police forces closed the intersection on Highway 60, and the bomb disposal squad was called to the scene. Tests revealed that the object consisted of a box and a mobile phone.

IDF Border Patrol sources emphasized that this object was a full-fledged explosive but police stressed that they did not find explosives on the box and that it was a dummy bomb.

Gershon Mesika, the Shomron Regional Council Chairman, said that the fact the device was discovered next to a Security Officer demonstrates the necessity of civil defense in all of Judea and Samaria.
