The fourth game of the Lebanese Basketball Championship Final on Tuesday between Riyadi and Sagesse ended in a huge brawl, after Sagesse won 69-61.

Reports said that on-the-court argument erupted between two players from opposing teams, and as a fight began, fans dashed into the court to join it.

Sports Minister Abdul Motleb Hennawi said to Lebanon radio on Wednesday that “what happened yesterday doesn’t show stability. The security situation must not be tampered with, and sedition must not be triggered.”

He assured listeners, “We will take the necessary precautions, and in my opinion the basketball championship must be stopped.”
