The Samaria community of Havat Gilad is preparing for the arrival of IDF bulldozers, which are to tear down two structures.
After a court instructed the state to demolish one home in the community, security officials informed residents Sunday that they intend to tear down a second home, which was built illegally.
IDF Radio reported that earlier in the day, Lt. Col. Maki Siboni of the Judea and Samaria Division paid a visit to the community and toured the area where the demolitions and evictions are to take place. He was accompanied by the community's leaders.
Residents promised to put up a fight if two structures are torn down and not just the one thay had expected to be demolished. They have already blocked the entrance to the community, according to IDF Radio.
"We just received a final notice from the Defense Ministry, that they intend to come and immediately tear down the structures. All of our sincere efforts to reach agreements were rejected. Therefore, the council has decided to put up a struggle. The council calls upon the public to start concentrating people, equipment, and whatever is possible, for a struggle that is expected to begin anytime from the coming hours onward, with the purpose of preventing the demolition of the homes.”
