With a little effort, Israel can fight back, and even win, against the attempts to deligitimize it, said attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner. Speaking to Arutz Sheva Monday, Darshan-Leitner said that her organization, Shurat Hadin, had not yet received a response from Oxfam, after Shurat Hadin accused the international group of having ties to terror groups.

In a letter to Oxfam, Shurat Hadin wrote that the group had “provided financial aid and additional forms of material support to the Union of Health Workers Committees (UHWC) and the Union of Agricultural Workers Committees (“UAWC”), instrumentalities of the terrorist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (“PFLP”) in the Hamas controlled Gaza Strip and the Palestinian Authority.”

The PFLP “is a notorious terrorist organization” and has been listed as a terrorist entity by the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia, she warned. The group’s terrorist activity continues to this day, she noted; recent attacks include the rocket attack on late Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s funeral in January 2014.

Oxfam recently dropped actress Scarlett Johansson as an Ambassador for the group after she refused to stop doing ads for Sodastream, after pressure by anti-Israel groups demanding to extend the boycott against Israel in general, and SodaStream in particular.

According to Leitner, the letter was sent after an initial investigation into Oxfam that showed the organization's ties with terror groups. “We decided to look a bit into the background of Oxfam to understand why they are so interested in boycotting Israel, and it turns out that they are working hand in hand with organizations groups in Gaza” that would support a boycott of Israel. Shurat Hadin will be conducting a deeper investigation into the organization, she said, to discover more connections between Oxfam and terror groups.
