Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Hezbollah terror group, on Tuesday predicted that Israel would not attack Iran without approval from the United States.

Nasrallah spoke to the Lebanese network OTV, in an interview that was likely also made to dispel rumors from earlier this week that Syrian rebels had managed to injure him.

“I do not think that Israel will attack Iran’s nuclear facilities without a green light from the Americans,” he said, adding that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had waged “psychological warfare” aimed at convincing the U.S. to strike Iran.

Nasrallah praised the nuclear deal reached in Geneva between Iran and the West, saying it prevented war in the region.

“There have been both regional and international factors pushing for the option of war against Iran,” he said.

“Iran’s agreement with the West has very big implications,” added the Hezbollah leader. “The biggest winner is the people of the region because they were pushing for the option of war with Iran, which is not an easy or simple and would have led to very dangerous repercussions on the entire region.”

The comments repeat previous comments made by Nasrallah, who recently blamed Israel for the lack of progress in talks with Iran, saying that the Jewish state was trying to push the Middle East into a war.

In the interview, he also referred to the Syrian civil war, in which his group has fought alongside President Bashar Al-Assad’s forces.

Nasrallah dismissed media reports which said Hezbollah had sustained heavy losses in the war, but that admitted Hezbollah men were present in “limited numbers” in Damascus and Homs.
