Members of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee spoke highly of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, labeling him as "one of the worlds great leaders," during a special event yesterday in Washington, D.C.
After being given a sterling introduction, Prime Minister Netanyahu said that he had one message for those at the event, that they must continue to apply pressure.
"Keep the pressure on," were his exact words during his address. Netanyahu noted that he had expressed his appreciation to U.S. President Obama for the regime of harsh sanctions that has induced Iran to enter into a dialogue in order to extract itself from the situation.
Those in attendance of the event were personally thanked by the Prime Minister for their contributions which have been in the making for several years now. Israel's Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren was singled out by Netanyahu for faithfully serving the State of Israel and for being an exceptional ambassador who had served as a human bridge between Israel and the U.S.
Previously, Netanyahu participated with members of Congress at a farewell event for outgoing Israeli Ambassador to the U.S.
Michael Oren, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Kevin McCarthy, and Steny H. Hoyer also spoke at the event.
