Hizbullah's television station, Al Manar, has broadcast a video report in which it exposes the identity of the guerrilla who it says was a commander of the 2006 operation that killled IDF soldiers Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser. The operation precipitated the Second Lebanon War.

The man is named Haled Al Basli, and is also known as Al Hajj Kassem. His identity is being exposed because he was recently killed in battles in Syria, according to “elements in Lebanese media,” said Israel's Channel 2.

The video shows Al Bazli briefing the guerrilla terrorist force before the operation. Subsequent footage, which was first broadcast a year ago, appears to show the actual attack, in which Regev and Goldwasser were abducted. Hizbullah terrorists fired a missile at an IDF Hummer jeep in which Regev and Goldwasser were patrolling the border with Lebanon. They died of their wounds and were returned to Israel in an exchange deal two years later.

The attack took place on July 12, 2006, and triggered the Second Lebanon war.
